Need Help?

XNAT Academy courses are made up of video screencasts, quiz components, and practical exercises that often (but not always) require you to download and install software on your local computer. If you are having problems with the XNAT Academy platform, please review the following information.

Note: Courses are self-paced and not actively proctored. If you have a problem with a specific course or are stuck on a specific problem, please contact the course author or reach out to that course's discussion group.

Problems Signing up for a Course?

Courses are free to attend, but do require user registration. This requires an email verification step, and that verification email can become lodged in your Spam or Junk folder. User registration is managed by Appsembler, who also manages the XNAT Academy course platform. If you have continued problems signing up, please contact the Appsembler team

Problems Viewing or Using Course Videos?

All course videos are uploaded to YouTube and have text captions manually added. These videos are embedded into each course. If you have problems viewing just one video in a course, it may be a problem with the video embed code. Please contact the course author to resolve it. If you have problems viewing all videos in a course, try using a different browser or computer to see if that helps.

Problems Interacting with Course Quizzes?

XNAT Academy courses are built on the Open edX platform and quiz modules may have specific browser requirements. If you have a problem with just one quiz module's behavior, contact that course author. If you cannot interact with any quiz modules, try using a different browser or computer to see if that helps.

Problems Managing a Practical Exercise?

Practical exercises are primarily tested on Mac OS, but should be able to be run on Mac, Windows, and Linux equally well. Practical exercises have varying requirements in terms of storage space and available memory. If you find issues with a specific practical exercise, please contact the course author to resolve it. If you do not have access to a computer system that you can perform these exercises with, you may simply have to skip them.
